The One-Day Firm Lab

One experimental day to build a working piece of your AI-native firm: a small matter database, a retrieval step and a bounded agent — running on your own accounts before you leave.

Who it serves

Founders, partners and lawyers who want to feel what building an AI-native firm is actually like.

The task

Guided from first schema to working prototype. Model fictional matters as records, wire a retrieval step that answers only from your sources, give one agent a single narrow tool with written boundaries, and put a working interface in front of it. Everything is built in accounts you open and keep.

The exercise

Build the intake-to-first-draft path for a fictional employment-law practice: instruction in, structured matter record, retrieval from a supplied pack, one bounded agent step, draft out — with a lawyer's sign-off in the loop.

What you practise

  • —Turning matters into structured records a system can query
  • —Wiring a retrieval step that answers only from your sources
  • —Giving an agent one tool, and a written contract for when it may use it
  • —Proving that a denied action fails safely
