Who it serves
Lawyers and legal technologists who want agents they can trust — and can explain.
The task
Build a bounded agent for a fictional matter task. Give it one tool, a written contract for when it may use that tool, and a human sign-off point. Then try to make it overreach — and prove that a denied action fails safely.
The exercise
Set the agent loose on a fictional matter pack with one read-only tool and one written rule. Review its log: what it did, what it wanted to do, and where the boundary held.
What you practise
- —Breaking a legal task into steps an agent can execute
- —Writing an explicit tool contract and authorisation boundary
- —Building a simple agent loop in a prepared environment
- —Testing: allowed actions pass, denied actions fail safely
- —Recording what the agent did, and why
